What data we collect and why
Newsletter subscriptions: When you subscribe to the Temperature Zero newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this to send you the Daily Signal briefing and occasional editorial communications. Your email is processed by Resend, our email service provider, under a data processing agreement that restricts them from using your data for any purpose other than delivering our emails.
Website analytics: We use server-side analytics to understand how readers use the site and improve our content. We do not use third-party tracking scripts or client-side analytics pixels.
Comments: If you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form along with your IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection.
Cookies: We use functional cookies necessary for site operation. You can manage cookie preferences via the consent banner on this site.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect to deliver the newsletter you subscribed to, improve the publication, and ensure the site functions correctly. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. Resend processes your data as a service provider under contractual restrictions — they are not a third party buyer of your information.
How long we retain your data
Subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send. Comment data is retained indefinitely to support moderation.

Third-party services
We use Resend for email delivery. Resend’s privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
YouTube API Services
Temperature Zero’s internal publishing tool (“T0 Publisher”) uses YouTube API Services to upload our self-produced videos to our own YouTube channel. By interacting with our YouTube channel, you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Our tool does not access, collect, or store any YouTube user data from visitors to this site or from any third parties; the only credential it holds is the OAuth authorization for our own channel, which we can revoke at any time via Google security settings. We retain no API-derived data.
